The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is thrilled to announce the return of its much-loved “Irie Hour” virtual “chill and chat” series for travel advisors.
Returning on Tuesday, January 11 at 2:30 p.m. EST after a brief hiatus, the informative session shines a bright light on the latest tourism developments in Jamaica while encouraging a positive, supportive and festive environment.
“Irie Hour is our commitment to [travel] agents that we’re in this together,” said Angella Bennett, regional director for Canada at the JTB, told PAX in an interview last year. “Not just in words, but absolutely in this together. We celebrate their milestones, their love of Jamaica, and their commitment to the island. And we give gifts of gratitude every second we can to keep their spirits going!”
Irie Hour (“Irie”, a Jamaican word for something that is nice, good, or pleasing) has been a labour of love since the JTB started the online series in May of 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic began to escalate.
Special guest speaker
For this Tuesday’s return, the JTB Canada team has invited a special guest, Nina Spencer, who is a motivational speaker and coach who will inspire and motivate travel agents during these tough industry times.
The topic for the one-hour session will be “2022 Bring it ON! Forward Thinking: Profoundly Practical Strategies for Protecting Your Professional Passion and Building Great Client Relationships Despite Pandemic Times.”
Spencer is a corporate motivational speaker and coach who brings years of experience in business and corporate leadership to the table, sharing strategies to cope in difficult times and as well, how to plan and strategize for the future.
She will focus heavily on personal resilience and ways to manage stress, anxiety, and the frustrations of daily life and share techniques to “cultivate, prospect, service and maintain clientele, even when a sale is not being made.”
