Air Canada Vacations (ACV) celebrated its new Edmonton to Cancun route with travel agency partners on a special FAM last month.
The tour operator recently hosted 35 agents from across Western Canada in partnership with Air Canada and the Edmonton Airport Authority.
The Edmonton International Airport (EIA) kicked off the Inaugural Flight with a gate party that included breakfast tacos, coffee, tea and refreshments. There was also a selfie station with a tropical theme for all guests travelling to Cancun to enjoy.
As passengers boarded the aircraft everyone was treated to custom made sombrero cookies prior to boarding the completely full flight.
Over the course of the week, agents explored many properties, as well as experiencing stays in Cancun courtesy of Bahia Principe Hotels and Resorts, Iberostar Hotels and Resorts and AMResorts.
The group was also treated to a Mexican Floating Fiesta excursion – XOXIMILCO, courtesy of Air Canada.
Marigold Frontina, general manager of sales for Western Canada at Air Canada Vacations along with Tina Knesset, area sales manager, Western Canada, and other members of the organization, took part in the event.
“Most if not all hotels visited were 85-100 per cent capacity” said Frontuna. “It is wonderful to see the appetite for travel is back and many of our partners business is quickly rebounding and recovering”.
"It's important to understand the need to book early, especially fo peak travel dates!”
