Phil Sproul, a longtime veteran of the travel industry, has joined Huntington Travel Group as Chief Executive Officer, taking control of the well-known consolidator and tours arm, Escapades by Huntington.

Sproul will oversee further development of the Canadian market while expanding the existing business in the United States, according to a press release issued on Wednesday (Jan. 18).

Sproul has held several senior level positions in the travel industry spanning more than 35 years. He has worked with airlines, tour operators, retailers and wholesale companies, most recently assisting in the launch of Indigeno Travel, Canada’s only Indigenous owned, full-service travel company.

"I am thrilled to be joining such a well-respected organization. I have worked over many years in various roles in the industry and look forward to working with the team at Huntington Travel Group and support the continuation of high touch service to the Canadian market, while expanding the services in the USA”, Sproul stated.

The company said it was "delighted" to have Sproul join the leadership team.

"We require a CEO with diverse travel industry leadership experience as Huntington Travel Group experiences a significant growth organically and via strategic acquisition in North America. Phil will be a great addition to the existing senior leadership team. Phil will build upon the customer focus, trust and service beyond corporate values of Huntington Brand," the company said.
