Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has recently appointed Ramon Jacinto, former business development manager for Western Canada, to the position of business development director, effective immediately.

Currently looking after a territory which includes Metro Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Southern Alberta, and Saskatchewan, Jacinto's main responsibilities will include working closely with travel agents to ensure that they have access to efficient training and product knowledge in order to maximize commission potential.

"It's an honour to be promoted to this position because it is a very rare opportunity for Norwegian BDMs in North America," Jacinto told PAX in an exclusive interview. "I see it as a testament to the support that our travel partners show for Norwegian products, promotions and of course their support of my role in their business."

Exciting news on the horizon

Discussing new developments for 2019, Jacinto told PAX that over in Western Canada, travel partners are very excited that Norwegian Joy, a new ship, will be home-ported in Seattle doing round trip Alaska cruises in conjunction with her younger sister, the very popular Norwegian Bliss.

"Some may recall that the Norwegian Joy was purpose-built for China but after spending one year there, we brought her to North America to fulfill the strong demand for large, new ships in the West Coast," Jacinto explained. "The Norwegian Joy will also do the Mexican Riviera and repositioning cruises out of Vancouver."

The combined total age of both ships sailing Alaska is three years old, making Norwegian the youngest fleet to ever sail Alaskan waters

Norwegian will continue to offer the value-packed Free at Sea promotion.

Jacinto can be reached by email at or by phone at (604) 447-6221.

"I also encourage them to join my closed Facebook group called Norwegian’s Western Canada Wave. There, we announce the latest promos, contests and even opportunities for Fams and seminars at sea," Jacinto concluded.
