After leaving her position as a sales and marketing associate at Tahiti Tourism, Émilie Giguère has landed a new role in a business she knows well.

"I'm happy to announce that I'm back in the cruise industry," Giguère announced on LinkedIn recently, alluding to the fact that she previously spent four years as a director of business development at Princess Cruises and Cunard.

Indeed, since July 25, Giguère has been developing business for the Hurtigruten Group, a Norway-based coastal cruise and expedition company that positions itself as “the undisputed world leader in sustainable and inspiring adventure travel.”

As a BDM, Giguère’s territory covers all of Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime provinces).

“I have always admired this company. Their values, like sustainable travel and giving back to the communities they visit, align with mine. Their business philosophy, ethics and desire to protect the environment are also very important to me,” Giguère wrote.

The new Hurtigruten ambassador noted that she is eager to get back on the road to introduce the company to travel professionals, encourage them to offer Hurtigruten to their customers, and to become specialists.

Prior to working for Hurtigruten, Tahiti Tourism and Princess Cruises, Ms. Giguère was a business development representative for Transat and a travel consultant.

She can be reached at emilie.giguere@hurtigruten.com or 514-212-4762.
