Kim Barbisan and Kevin Pohlmann are now national sales managers at Discover the World (DTW) Canada, it was announced Tuesday (May 17).
Barbisan has worked in the travel industry for four decades, her vast travel experience and success in sales and marketing is “only shadowed by her effervescent personality, DTW said in a news release.
Her strong relationships with the travel trade and her market insights are “great assets” for her to leverage as she leads all sales and marketing for Tradewinds Voyages and Hebridean Island Cruises, said DTW, which has offices in more than 60 countries with upwards of 100 clients that utilize its sales, marketing and business process outsourcing services.
“I am very excited about representing two unique niche market cruise lines and building strong relationships with our travel partners to promote them. I look forward to working with the amazing team at Discover the World and doing great things together,” Barbisan said.
Barbisan has held several positions, including Members Service Director for Travelsavers and Ensemble, area sales manager with Air Canada Vacations (ACV), and most recently business development manager for WestJet/WestJet Vacations.
She also was the director of sales for Cruise Strategies Ltd., where she was responsible for niche market luxury cruise lines, including Windstar Seabourn, Hebridean Island Cruises, and UN-cruise Adventure.
Pohlmann has worked in the travel industry his entire career and his passion is aviation.
His experience as regional sales manager for Western Canada with Cathay Pacific Airways, and most recently as a business development manager with WestJet Airlines “will provide a strong foundation” as Pohlmann transitions to regional sales manager for Singapore Airlines.
Pohlmann will be responsible for growing and expanding DTW’s trade relations in Western Canada as well as securing corporate business contracts for Singapore Airlines.
His strong partner relationships, strategic vision and growth mindset will accelerate Singapore Airlines success in the west and provide in market presence, said DTW.
