Christophe Hennebelle has been named vice-president of corporate communications at Air Canada.
Hennebelle previously held the position of vice-president of human resources and public affairs at Transat until November 2022. He started his position at Air Canada on March 27.
"This is an opportunity to join a beautiful and strong company and to continue in the exciting field of aviation," said Mr. Hennebelle.
In his new role, Hennebelle will be responsible for all of the company's communications, both internally and externally.
“I'm in charge of the entire external communications team, plus employee communications,” he said.
Hennebelle's role is a new VP position at Air Canada.
It does not coincide with the role held by Pascale Déry, who worked for Air Canada until July 2022 and was later elected as a CAQ Québec Member of the National Assembly, and then became Minister of Higher Education.
Instead, Ms. Déry’s title was director of media relations – Quebec, Eastern Canada and Europe.
It’s worth noting that before joining the Air Canada team, Hennebelle was part of the Transat team for more than 13 years.
He first held the position of human resources director of the Look Voyages subsidiary, then of Transat France, from 2009 to 2014, before joining the management team at the Montreal head office, as vice-president human resources and talent management.
He added public affairs to his responsibilities in 2016 when Michel Lemay stepped down as vice-president public affairs and communications.
Before joining Transat, Hennebelle held several human resources management positions for two large companies in France.
He holds a master's degree in management and human resources from the EDHEC Business School in Lille, one of the French Grandes Ecoles.
