Bahia Principe confirms 9 hotels are reopening this August
The Bahia Principe Fantasía Tenerife, a five-star hotel inaugurated in November 2018, plans to reopen on August 10th.

Grupo Piñero, the mother Company of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, continues to take steps forward in the resumption of its services with the reopening of two of its hotels located on the Canary Island of Tenerife and one more in Mallorca.

Specifically, the Bahia Principe Fantasía Tenerife, a five-star hotel inaugurated in November 2018, plans to reopen on August 10th. From that day on, guests will be able to enjoy this themed resort that offers a new holiday concept for families in Spain.

For its part, the Bahia Principe Sunlight Tenerife will begin to welcome guests starting August 1st. Perched on top of a cliff, the resort is renowned for its unique architecture, which conveys the essence of typical Canary Island villages.

Both establishments will offer their guests a carefully selected gastronomic offer, as well as different open-air activities. A series of services that have been designed so that guests of all ages can enjoy local tourism.

The company has also moved up the opening of another of its hotels in Mallorca, the Hotel Piñero Bahia de Palma, to July 25th.

Nine hotels up and running

With the reopening of these establishments, in August Grupo Piñero will have nine hotels open and running, three of them on the island of Tenerife, since the Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje opened its doors on July 1st.

On that same day, the following hotels resumed their activity: Bahia Principe Sunlight Coral Playa, located in Palma de Mallorca; Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar and Bahia Principe Fantasia Punta Cana, both in the Dominican Republic; Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, located on the Riviera Maya in Mexico, and the Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica hotel, located in Jamaica.

The rest of the hotels will be opening gradually according to demand and the evolution of the situation, also taking into account the peculiarities of each destination.

“We plan to open our hotels in tiered fashion, and each opening will hinge on criteria of responsibility for safeguarding the health and well-being of our guests and employees,” notes Encarna Piñero, Executive Vice-President and CEO of the Group, who adds: “Based on this responsibility, our plan to open up in all destinations will be aligned with the recovery of activity in the sector and with the reactivation of other actors, such as tour operators, sales channels, airlines, etc. The good evolution in demand of the tourism market (since travellers are the ones who make the final decision) is what prompted the decision to reopen these three establishments.”

Grupo Piñero confirms its commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism and reinforces its standards by adapting them to the new post-Covid-19 health and hygiene needs, in collaboration with HS Consulting, to guarantee correct compliance with the regulations of each of the countries and destinations where it operates, the recommendations of the WHO and the protocols of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE).
