UnCruise reveals new look & brochure for 2017-18

UnCruise Adventures is marking 20 years with a brand refresh and new brochure, as the small-ship cruise line prepares to sail on its 2016-17 itineraries.

Richard Edwards, vice-president, spoke to PAX recently about the rebrand in the lead-up to cruise season; according to Edwards, the cruise line’s 2017 Alaska cruises have once again already sold out.

The rebranding took approximately six months, said Edwards, with plenty of staff feedback and input driving the process. Among the changes travel agents may note are new visuals, in particular the new logo and the removal of the dash in 'UnCruise.' Edwards explained the logo as a simple yet effective way of uniting the cruise line’s three main aspects within UnCruise’s familiar whale tail logo.

“Our new logo is a fresh take on the whale tail bringing together the three elements that make our trips memorable,” Edwards said. “It’s adventure, and the place, and the intersection of the two is the connection. People make lifelong memories and friendships from connections made with each other and the natural environment. ”

The new 2017-18 brochure features a number of new and returning cruise programs, ranging from one week to 21 nights, in destinations including Alaska, British Columbia, coastal Washington, Columbia and Snake Rivers, Mexico, Hawaii, the Galápagos Islands, Costa Rica and Panamá.

New in 2017, ten departures in the Galápagos Islands offer an updated nine-day itinerary including an extension to Quito, Ecuador. Updated Costa Rica/Panamá and Pure Panamá itineraries add a pre-cruise hotel night for nine-day trips, while a new Costa Rica Beaches & Jungles itinerary begins in December 2017 and offers nine day adventure cruises roundtrip from San José, Costa Rica exploring further north into the Papagayo Gulf.

The travel agent community continues to play an important role in selling UnCruise packages, Edwards said, and to highlight the brand updates, travel agent partners have been invited to “Define your Un-ness” in a contest running on the company’s Facebook page or website. One winner will be drawn at random on Aug. 18 and gifted a cruise for two in Mexico’s Sea of Cortés this winter.

UnCruise is also launching a Canada-exclusive offer, with discounts of $300USD for Hawaii and Mexico cruises departing on Nov. 19, Nov. 26 and Dec. 31 (if booked by Nov. 11).
