Crystal to launch "world's first" mega yacht

Crystal Cruises will be launching the world’s first purpose-built polar class mega yacht. 

Measuring 600 feet (183 meters) long, the 25,000 gross ton yacht with 100 guest suites will be the largest and most spacious mega yacht afloat, the company claims.

The mega yacht, named Crystal Endeavor, was announced at a press event at the annual SeaTrade Cruise Global convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Named after Captain James Cooks’ research ship “HMS Endeavour,” which discovered Australia and New Zealand nearly 250 years ago,  the newly-built vessel will be designed for global expedition in Arctic, Antarctic and tropical conditions.

Crystal Endeavor, which will be built by the Lloyd Werft Group, will debut in August 2018.
