Quark Expeditions has announced that astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield will explore the Arctic and Greenland on its Arctic Icebreaker Expedition: Best of the Canadian High Arctic voyage this year.
The voyage, which takes place in true expedition style on the soviet icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov, is the third of four separate journeys, which together culminate in a full circumnavigation of the Arctic.
“Chris Hadfield’s Generator” is a science-based variety show that blends knowledge, perception, music and comedy, hosted by the celebrated astronaut and featuring special guests. It will be presented to Quark passengers on the expedition.
Passengers will board the Kapitan Khlebnikov, which is famous for accessing inaccessible landing sites, and explore Greenland’s west coast and the Canadian Far North.
Hadfield and his team will have the opportunity to experience the Greenlandic fishing village of Sisimiut, spectacular Ilulissat Icefjord, Cobourg Island’s sprawling bird cliffs, and historic Beechey Island.
Passengers can save 25 per cent if they book before March 15, 2016. For more information visit QuarkExpeditions.com.
