Let's Get Uncomfortable (LGU), the volunteer organization committed to having honest conversations in Canada's travel industry, will host the second event in its three-part mental health series, BURNOUT: Up Close & Personal - Confronting the Tourism Industry's Mental Health Crisis.
On Thursday, December 8, LGU's Maria Ines will speak with Julie Smigadis of Flight Centre Travel Group, Shalene Dudley of Latitude Concierge Travels Ltd. and Tim Chan, PR pro who spent a decade in the tourism industry, about their personal experiences balancing mental health with demanding careers in travel, particularly as they’ve navigated the impacts of COVID-19.
(This event is the make-up date for the postponed session that was originally set for Nov. 10).
Exploring the real-life impacts of mental distress, this event will be an up-close look at the role mental health plays in our day-to-day, how it hides in plain sight, and ways we can support each other moving forward.
