France implements new procedure for requesting health pass
Pax Global Media

The French government implemented a new procedure for requesting a health pass valid in France for Canadian and non-European visitors.

The new method, announced Aug. 27, replaces the previous one (request by email), which is no longer valid.

France's health pass, which comes in the form of a QR code, allows entry into public spaces, such as restaurants, museums, trains and buses.

As part of the new procedure, requests must now be submitted via this website

The following conditions must be met to apply for the pass.

  • Be 18 years of age or over. Until September 30, 2021, the health pass is not required for minors between 12 and 17 years old. In addition, minors under 12 are not subject to the obligation of a health pass;
  • Have been vaccinated in a non-European country, with a vaccine accepted by the European Medicines Agency  or equivalent since:    - more than 4 weeks after injection for single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson)

            - more than 7 days after the second injection for two-dose vaccines (ie: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca);

            - more than 7 days after the injection if you have recovered from COVID-19 (in this case, only one injection is necessary);

  • You must not be a resident of one of the following countries: Member States of the European Union, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Switzerland or United Kingdom (England and Wales only) - because these countries allow obtaining the EU digital Covid certificate , which is accepted in France.
  • You must already be in France or plan to go there in the next few days.

If the vaccination certificate is not converted

In the absence of conversion of the vaccination certificate, the negative result of an antigen test carried out in a pharmacy, available throughout France, allows you to obtain a health pass valid for three days (72 hours).
