CoNexion conference kicks off onboard Celebrity Equinox

CoNexion, Nexion Travel Group’s annual member conference, kicked off aboard Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Equinox this weekend.

Taking place August 19-27, the conference will sail from Fort Lauderdale to the ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.

More than 520 attendees will spend the week learning, networking and exploring different ports of call.

 “The excitement and energy are high among our members as we kick off CoNexion,” said Jackie Friedman, president of Nexion Travel Group, at the conference’s first general session.

“The connections we make, and knowledge gained this week will pay dividends throughout the rest of the year.”

CoNexion is an opportunity for the Nexion community to come together to interact with the host agency’s preferred supplier partners, staff and fellow travel advisors.

This year’s event will include important presentations from Nexion executives and travel industry leaders, along with six general sessions and 49 workshops, hour-long small-group classes on everything from marketing and supplier updates, to the best ways to run a business.

“Our education team has been hard at work ensuring that we have a well-rounded roster of workshops,” Friedman added.

“CoNexion participants have a wealth of options to choose from and all of these workshops are designed to give our members ideas and knowledge that they can put to work as soon as they get home to make their agencies even more profitable and functional.”

The conference will also feature a trade show on Aug. 25 and keynote speaker Dondra Ritzenthaler, currently a motivational speaker and formerly the senior vice-president of sales for Celebrity Cruises.
