Transat surprises first round of Confetti winners

Transat has awarded its first group of Confetti winners last week, following the inaugural challenge that launched Nov. 1 to kick-off the 12-month reward program.

Each regional winner was visited by Transat representatives, who came to celebrate their success under a shower of confetti.

During this surprise ceremony, they each received their trophy and a cheque for $5,000.

Winners were Rita Sanduja from itravel2000 in Toronto, Manju Maniyan from Escapes.ca in Vancouver, Monique MacMullin from Maritime Travel in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Claudie Roy from Sears Voyages in Quebec City, who was surprised and awarded at the Montréal-Trudeau airport as she was preparing to fly Air Transat with her family.

The winning agencies also received $2,000 in cash and were automatically entered in the random draw for a grand prize of $25,000 taking place at the end of the year.

PAXnews.com was on-hand for the Toronto delivery, where Sanduja - who has been with itravel2000 for 16 years - was left speechless upon learning about her prize.

She said she's been selling Transat for years, but the Confetti program has created extra incentive. She calls it "icing on the cake" in addition to the Bonbon program.

In December, there will be 19 Confetti winners. This month’s challenge involves all Transat brands and products, with one winning agent for each Canadian gateway served by Transat.

The winners will receive a pre-paid Visa card valued at $1,000, as well as their agencies, who will also be entered in the grand prize draw. In all, $38,000 will be given to the different winners and their agencies.
