London airspace closed due to computer failure

A computer failure closed airspace over London this morning, grounding flights for several hours.

According to reports, a power outage at the NATS air traffic control centre in Swanwick, England shut down computers and caused the closure, which stopped all air traffic at Heathrow Airport. While outbound flights at Gatwick Airport were suspended, incoming flights were still landing, said a report from Reuters.

As of 11:50 a.m. EST, airspace over London was reopened.
