According to Visit Florida, the Sunshine State welcomed an estimated 97.3 million travellers in 2014, setting a fourth year-over-year record.
The number represents an increase of 3.9 per cent over 2013, exceeding the previous high of 93.7 million.
An estimated 3.8 million Canadians came to Florida in 2014, along with 11.5 million overseas visitors, both of which are record highs and represent 2.6 per cent and 2.4 per cent increases over 2013 respectively.
For Q4 2014, preliminary estimates show a record 22.4 million people visited the state, the largest fourth quarter visitation number Florida has ever seen, representing an increase of 2.8 per cent over the same period in 2013. Of those travellers, approximately 765,000 were Canadians (reflecting an increase of 5.6 per cent over the same period in 2013) while an estimated 3.1 million were overseas visitors.
