Direct flights coming between Montreal and Beijing?

Direct flights between Montreal and Beijing could be a reality within the next year, says Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard.

According to a Canadian Press report, Premier Couillard -  currently on a trade mission to China, along with Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Prince Edward Island Premier Robert Ghiz – hinted at the possibility of the service, which would be operated by Air Canada partner carrier Air China.

Air Canada executives are scheduled to meet tomorrow with Chinese civil aviation authorities and James Cherry of the Montreal Airport Authority, says the report.
