The Canadian Transportation Agency has granted Lynx Air 10 licenses to operate a scheduled international service (large aircraft) to a host of destinations on both sides of the Atlantic.
The low-cost airline had applied for licenses for the following countries and regions:
Member States of the European Union
Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Iceland
Mexico
The Dominican Republic
Jamaica
Costa Rica
Colombia
The Bahamas
Barbados
The agency accepted all applications and issued all licenses, saying it was satisfied that Lynx met all applicable conditions of the Canada Transportation Act.
It also said it was satisfied that the relevant conditions of the various air transport agreements between Canada and the U.S. have been respected.
In issuing the licenses, the agency specified that they are subject to the conditions prescribed by the Air Transportation Regulations and other usual conditions.
Lynx has yet to announce route details for these destinations.
The airline currently serves 16 destinations in Canada and the U.S.
