CanJet Vacations officially launches

CanJet Vacations is now open for business, the company has announced this morning. Product has officially launched in the SIREV GDS and is also available for travel agency sales through CanJet’s call center at 1-800-809-7777.

The tour operator will be offering close to 200 different four-star and above hotels under the CanJet Vacations brand. Moving forward, its focus will now switch to the distribution side for the next few months to establish strategic partnerships and make product available via additional GDS channels.

CanJet Vacations will be offering departures on CanJet Airlines to destinations in Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Jamaica from Toronto Pearson Airport starting Dec. 18, 2014.

"CanJet is not new to Canadian leisure travellers, and customers will enjoy a comfortable, modern onboard experience in addition to the reliable service CanJet Airlines has built its reputation on over the last 14 years through its on-time performance and safety record," a company release says. "We will continue to offer CanJet Select, seat selection, hot meal service, ‘welcome onboard’ beverages and other service features our guests expect from CanJet Airlines as they head to their vacation destination."

Commission is eight per cent on the vacation package price, excluding taxes and airport fees. There will be no surcharges in pricing, which they say allows for commissions to be earned on a larger base price.

This announcement follows last week's news that John Kirk is joining the company as vice-president, sales and marketing, effective Aug. 18.
