After listing on the NEO Stock Exchange this week, Canada Jetlines, a new, all-Canadian, leisure carrier, has announced the appointment of Adam Wilcox as director of business development and network planning.

In this new role, Wilcox will shift the airline into new streams of revenue, connecting the carrier to key stakeholders and destinations, read a news release issued on Friday (Oct. 15).

He will work closely with corporate and government entities, travel agencies, and tourism marketing companies to scale the carrier’s route offerings and implement Jetlines’ goal of providing exciting and affordable options to leisure travellers.

“I’m thrilled to join this seasoned team of aviation and industry pioneers with a passion for making travel more accessible and affordable for all,” stated Wilcox. “My goal is to implement strategic partnerships and leverage existing relationships to ensure Jetlines’ expansion as a successful and reliable leisure carrier.”

A graduate of King’s University College (University of Western Ontario), Wilcox began his aviation career in Africa, focusing on regional airline and route development.

Wilcox assisted several fortune 500 companies in building out their aviation finance business in Canada.

He was a founding management team member at Porter, where he played a key role in the significant start-up phase, business development / stakeholder strategy and airport operations.

Most recently, he has been involved in the business aviation sector selling corporate aircraft and arranging corporate charters.

A renowned ski expert, Wilcox is also certified by Alpine Canada as a ski coach and coaching facilitator.

“Adam’s depth of experience within the aviation space and deep-seeded relationships within the travel industry make him a leader with the utmost capacity to catapult Jetlines to the level we envision,” said Duncan Bureau, chief commercial officer of Canada Jetlines. “We are excited to welcome Adam to our team to help lay the foundation of our growth into the future for Canada Jetlines.”

With operations commencing in early 2022, Jetlines aims to provide convenient air travel options for the lowest possible price, offering more travel choices than competitors to coveted sun-destinations and more revenue options for agents and tour operators.

The respected industry executive was handpicked to join the growing management team to spearhead Jetlines’ overall business development and strategic partnerships.
