Azores Airlines to add direct Toronto-Funchal service

Azores Airlines has announced new direct flights between Funchal and Toronto.

The new connection enhances the airline’s connectivity with North America, adding to operations between Funchal and New York and Boston.

The new flights are in the system and tickets can be purchased now, the airline says. 

Direct flights between Funchal – the capital city of Portugal's Madeira archipelago – and Toronto start in June 2024 and run until September. 

In addition, Azores Airlines will maintain the current offer of direct flights between Funchal and New York, and flights to Canada (Toronto) with a stop in Ponta Delgada (Azores). 

"In 2023, Azores Airlines’ operation between Madeira and the Azores is extremely positive. The bet on direct flights between Madeira and North America outcomes from the success of the operation between New York and Funchal," says the Executive President of Azores Airlines,” said Teresa Gonçalves, CEO of the SATA Group.
