On Dec. 22, Air Transat celebrated the return of flights to the island of St. Maarten.
The Minister of Tourism, representatives of the tourist office and the airport authorities welcomed flights TS218 and TS288, respectively arriving from Toronto and Montreal, with a traditional water salute ceremony during which fire trucks sprayed high arches of water over the aircrafts.
Flights to St. Maarten will be available every Saturday until Apr. 20, 2019, departing from Toronto and Montreal.
"We are pleased to be resuming flights to St-Maarten, so that our customers can once again enjoy this great holiday destination, popular for its idyllic beaches and cultural diversity," Debbie Cabana, marketing director, social media and public relations, told PAX. "We currently offer six hotels in all-inclusive or European plan and the island is also a port of embarkation for Transat's all-in-one cruise packages, offering many vacation options. Since Hurricane Irma, reconstruction is well underway, and the airport and tourist infrastructures were ready for the return of our flights at the end of December 2018."
Transat currently offers stays at the following hotels in St. Maarten:
- Belmond La Samanna
- Divi Little Bay Beach Resort
- Esmeralda Resort
