For 25 years, Air France and railway company SNCF offered their customers a service allowing train and plane journeys to be combined in the same reservation. They have just strengthened their partnership by extending the “TRAIN + AIR” product to the Bordeaux - Paris-Orly axis.
Called Train + Air (formerly TGV Air) and used each year by more than 160,000 customers, this service currently connects 14 stations to Air France hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly.
The 14 stations:
- Angers Saint-Laud
- Avignon TGV
- Champagne-Ardenne TGV
- Le Mans
- Lille Europe
- Lorraine TGV
- Lyon Part Dieu
- Nantes
- Nimes
- Poitiers
- Reindeer
- Saint-Pierre-des-Corps
- Strasbourg
- Valence TGV
Since December 15, Train + Air has also been offered by Air France between Bordeaux Saint-Jean station and Paris-Orly airport. This service allows connections to the entire Air France international network from Paris airport.
Customers travel by train from Bordeaux to Massy TGV, before being transferred to Paris-Orly by a taxi service. Five daily departures are provided from Bordeaux Saint-Jean and 4 from Massy TGV, at suitable times to allow fast connections.
Air France and SNCF are currently working on deploying the Train + Air product on other routes and improving the customer experience throughout the journey.
