Air Canada flight makes crash landing in Halifax

Twenty-three people were taken to hospital after an Air Canada flight made a crash landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport this past weekend.

According to a report by the CBC, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada said that the Airbus A320, which was carrying 133 passengers and five crew from Toronto to Halifax, landed more than 300 metres short of the runway in snowy weather, before hitting an antenna array which destroyed the aircraft’s landing gear. The incident took place on March 29 at 12:43 a.m. AT, Air Canada said. Several passengers and crew members were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries; as of Sunday afternoon, Air Canada reported that all but one of the injured parties had been released from hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by the TSB.
