A $19 million renovation has begun at the Melia Nassau Beach hotel, with phase one of the plan expected to be complete by November.
The Cable Beach resort, part of the Melia Hotels International brand, will remain open during the project, with minimal interruptions to guests. Renovations throughout the entire Melia Nassau Beach property are expected to be complete by early 2016.
Upon completion of the first phase, the resort will boast 694 guestrooms offering modern décor and a private patio or balcony. In addition, the hotel will introduce guests to The Level, a signature service by Melia Hotels & Resorts offering exclusive experiences, select room categories, a private pool and beach area, a separate check-in area in The Level Lounge (located upstairs from the main lobby) and preferred reservations for à la carte restaurants and other activities.
As part of the redesign, the terrace at The Market Place restaurant will be expanded to exude a more Caribbean feel and to round out the offerings, Melia Nassau Beach will add five eateries to its three existing restaurants, which will offer Mexican cuisine, Japanese/Cantonese/Peruvian fusion, traditional steakhouse fare and much more.
For younger travellers, The Kids & Co. facilities and amenities will be upgraded during renovations while a Kids & Co. guestroom category will also be introduced.
Additional property enhancements include the transformation of the existing concierge desk into a lobby bar and a redesign of the hotel pools and outdoor landscape.
