Workshops, education at TDC conference

A delegation of more than 500 attended Transat Distribution Canada’s (TDC) Regional Conference, held at the International Plaza in Toronto from Sept.11 to 13.

More than a year in the making, TDC engaged travel industry educator Nolan Burris to build custom-designed content specific for the TDC professional seller. The education included hands-on workshops focused on how to meet the client expectations for luxury travel, how to engage with customers shopping and booking on the Internet and how to provide the service and expertise to meet the ever-changing travel needs of customers for life. In addition to the educational forum, more than 75 preferred partners were on hand to provide product information and answer questions posed by TDC's network of professional sellers.

The event’s key note speaker, Dr. Georges Sabongui, returned for a second engagement with the TDC network. After speaking to TDC owners and managers at last fall’s National Leadership Conference, he was brought back by popular demand, delivering a presentation on managing stress.

TDC’s celebration event recognized long service award winners, including Lois Wilkinson, a 40-year TDC veteran from Transat Travel Sherway.
