Travel Edge has announced a limited-time signing bonus program for luxury travel advisors in order to support independent contractors (IC) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company is seeking luxury travel advisors "who are looking to join a secure, stable, luxury travel company that believes in the future of travel," Travel Edge stated in a release.

The acquisition fund represents a $50 million-dollar investment the company is making in both travel advisors and agencies looking to join Travel Edge.

“The expertise of travel advisors is at the heart of our travel offering. The future of luxury travel lives with the ICs,” Michael Johnson, executive vice-president of Travel Edge, stated in a release. “We felt it was important to support the bedrock of our industry with an appropriate and much needed investment when it needs it most. We are paying a limited time signing bonus of up to $250K in support of ICs joining the TE family.”

The signing bonus represents 35 per cent of commissions in 2019, said Christopher Sherman, senior director, communications, leisure at Travel Edge.

"This is an opportunity for us to grow our community for the future, and at the same time, support those who need it," said Sherman

An additional part of the Travel Edge Acquisition Fund is a referral bonus for existing Travel Edge ICs, Sherman explained.

Travel Edge is offering a limited-time referral bonus for current Travel Edge advisors who bring peers into the Travel Edge network," he said. "If they recommend and support an outside advisor in joining the Travel Edge, we offer a referral bonus as recognition for the time and effort in supporting other advisors make the transition."

"The existing ICs benefit from having a strong community – providing better contracts, buying power, support and added value," Sherman added.

Empowering luxury advisors

Travel Edge is focused on three pillars to ensure a best-in-class travel home for ICs – Preferred Access, Premium Technology and Passionate Community.

These items empower luxury advisors with "the platform they need to take their business to the next level," the company stated.

"Travel Edge celebrates the craft of the Luxury Travel Advisors in a unique way – creating a passionate community is part of that world class support,” Johnson stated. “We match the best commissions in the industry with world class technology, and we emphasize that Luxury Travel is about the human connection."

Tailored supplier training, rewards programs and exclusive experiences, such as the company's new luxury advisor conference, Limitless, are some of Travel Edge's key differentiators, the company says.

"Of course, everyone in our industry is facing enormous challenges. But we remain a community that depends on each other with the focus and desire to serve our clients,"  Johnson stated. “We want advisors who are affected by the events of COVID-19 to feel they not only have a safe place to land, but that they are joining an agency that is looking towards the future. In an unstable time for our industry, Travel Edge is positioned for growth. The Travel Edge bonus is an added income opportunity for those who have been greatly affected by all recent events – with 50 per cent immediate payout upon signing.”

Johnson added: "Travel Edge is proud to invest in their advisors and is dedicated to the continual investment in being North America’s premiere luxury agency.”
