On the floor at Travel MarketPlace

The second annual Travel MarketPlace got underway on June 16 at Toronto's International Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre.

The two day conference is dedicated exclusively to Canadian travel agents and suppliers interested in growing their business.

Throughout the day, various educational sessions and panel discussions took place, featuring some of the industry's top thought leaders such as Nolan Burris, David Holt and Alicia Whalen, to name a few. A trade show was also part of the activities.

The day was rounded out with the presentation of the ACTA - Air Canada Awards. Winners were as follows:

Corporate Travel Agent: Annette Frey, Uniglobe Carefree Travel (Saskatoon, Sask)

Tomorrow's Leader: Ashley Morgan, Transat Travel (London, On)

Maguire-Wamsley Award: Norm Payne, Custom Travel Solutions (Ottawa, On)

Ches Chard Award: Expedia CruiseShipCentres (Vancouver, B.C.)

Gerald Heifetz Trailblazer Award: Ron Pradinuk, Renaissance Travel Inc. (Winnipeg, Man)
